Apologies for the second angry post in a row, but I just had to share to protect my poor husband's sanity (he has heard it all before!)
The house next door is separated into flats and rented out. The man who owns this house is incredibly rude, selfish and just plain not very nice. Since last week he has been hammering, drilling, sawing and banging every night, way past Olive's bedtime, and understandably, it has been affecting the poor little mite's sleep.
Tonight, at 8.45, O was still awake and he was in the next door upstairs flat using what sounded like a circular saw. I snapped. I went out into the street and asked him to stop. He said no. I explained he was keeping my daughter awake. He didn't care. He was rude. He didn't apologise. He said he wasn't finished. I got fed up, shouted and said I was going to call the police. I went back in doors, breathed deeply and thankfully the noise stopped.
I know we live in central London and noise is to be expected but I've had it with all the selfish people round here disturbing my little girl's sleep and my sanity. Last summer it was the crazy drummer man on the other side of our garden who thought it was ok to hold Glastonbury on his rooftop every warm weekend. I kid you not, he had amps, drums, guitarists and a three piece suite out there. The guy next door waged a major campaign to get rid of him, then, get this, when he did finally get him evicted, he spent almost two weeks at night cutting paving stones till it 10pm. He only stopped when the girl next door and me joined forces. Aside from the major renovations taking place across the road with skips being emptied and delivered at 6am, scaffolders and roofers turning up very soon after, now we have landlord from hell working his merry magic again. All this noise is turning me into psycho neighbour. I want some quiet - please!!!
Aside from this, it is happy times in the TWAR household, so happy posts to follow very soon.

Where to start? I don't think anything feels as much like an assault as being put upon in your own home in this way. I also despair of people like your neighbour, just being so uncaring, so rude, so arrogant, it leaves me speechless. You can feel so powerless. I hope his ill deeds come back upon him tenfold!
