Tempting fate

On Thursday night over a glass of wine I happened to comment to M on how well O was sleeping. She was going to bed without a fuss, sleeping really soundly and no longer waking in the night. I surmised it must be down to her dropping her daytime nap.

Every night since then she has woken at least 3 times each night for "Meeeelkkk' "Big hugs in the rocking chair", 'Time to wake up now and go downstairs", "Can't find my Dougie", "Incey Wincey waking me up" and "Sleep in MummyDaddy's bed." This morning after another restless night when we finally got up at 7am she said "I had a lovely sleep Mummy!"

When will I ever learn to keep my big mouth shut!!!

You know L, the other day I started to write something similar about our littlest ones sleeping habits. I wrote it, sat there and thought "perhaps I shouldn't share this thought because you don't want to tempt you know what" - so I deleted it! I can totally sympathise. I always look forward to Ella - now at 4 we very rarely hear from her, very occasionally she'll need a wee in the night, but even now she'll call out, very gently rather than the hollering that went on before. On bad nights I just think, only 3 years to go!

Oh how funny! I'm never going to comment on O's sleeping habits on here again!

Thanks heaps for the book recommendations too. O is at nursery today so I'm catching up on a bit of schoolwork (ahem stop blogging Lindsay!) before hitting the bookshop to see if I can find them. I love hearing about good new books, if you have any more do let me know.

On the travel thing too - must confess that we have only ever done a 4 hour trip to Perth in October last year and that was enough. The girls were by no means bad, but Leila is an early walker (10 months) and wanted to be on the go the whole time. We want to go OS again but will probably leave another couple of years at least when the girls will then be 3 and 7.
