Frequency and Volume

Olive and I went to see the Rafael Lozano-Hemmer exhibition in The Curve at the Barbican. He's turned it into a big interactive space where shadows are tuned to 48 different radio stations simultaneously. It's heaps of fun and great for children. Olive loved running around, making her shadow big and small and dancing to all the music she made.

Alien Antics

It's been a good week for activities. On Friday, we went to a workshop at the Museum of Childhood called Alien Antics. I'm usually slightly disappointed with the MoC, I don't feel it's interactive enough, with too many things hidden behind glass cabinets and it isn't inspiring in the way that say, the Science Museum is, but this workshop was excellent and lots of fun. We sang songs, made alien noises, hid under a parachute, painted and decorated (each other, Milo sported some lovely purple eye shadow and spiky purple hair and my jeans were customised with some red hand prints) and came away with this amazing alien head gear.

By the end O and M felt like this, and R and me would have loved a vodka tonic!
